About 10 years ago I
started looking at building a kit car and had decided on building either a
seven or cobra replica and had narrowed it down to models manufactured by
the likes of Pilgim, Dax and Westfield. Unfortunately work, time, money and
family seemed to get in the way.
Now that I seem
to have a little more time (and money) to play with, I have once again
became interested, for a number of reasons
Due to space restrictions for the build, I decided
that a cobra would probably be too big (and I have to have something to look
forward to building next !)
After a long and hard decision (about 5 minutes) I
decided to build a Dax Rush.
The concept is to turn this
old Ford Sierra donor car ...........
.
.............into something like this

(Pixture courtesy of Dax)
.............which
actually ended up looking like this

My order was placed on 17th October 2002 for
a de-dion kit, with build date for chassis number 550 confirmed for 17th March
2003. It seemed a long time to wait, but plenty of time to find a suitable
Sierra donor and refurbish or source all the bits.
After just over 2 years since the order for
the kit was placed, the car finally passed its SVA test on 23rd November 2004
and was registered as 'D4 XVB' (DAX V8) on 2nd December 2004
